It is my pleasure to support Trinda Ernst for Second Vice-President of the Canadian Bar ssociation. Trinda has made a tremendous contribution at the local, provincial and national levels of the CBA. She has been a great ambassador and promoter of the values of the CBA. I am supporting her candidacy because of her vast CBA experience and her vision for the future of CBA. Trinda recognizes that the key to ongoing success of the CBA is membership and its members. She has demonstrated time and time again the importance of membership and in promoting membership services. I believe that Trinda will make an excellent voice for the CBA. Daniel A. MacRury, Q.C. Chief Crown Attorney Cape Breton Region Membership Chair, CBA Nova Scotia and member of the National Membership Committee National CBA Executive member Criminal Justice Section - Treasurer When I was first introduced to Trinda I believe she was our Branch President. I was a law student. Trinda mentored everyone in her path. She encouraged me and others to continue to volunteer with CBA. She made opportunities for me to participate in Law Day and encouraged me as a newly-minted lawyer to pursue my own path. Trinda knows CBA from the grass roots section activities to the national focus with her work on National Committees and Conferences. Her work on the Resolutions Committee in particular revealed her as a leader. I remember one well-debated if not contentious meeting in particular which really impressed me (as a woman seeing another woman maintain order). It is not a matter of gender, but about respect and knowing what you are doing. That particular episode more than anything confirmed for me that Trinda can lead this organization. Trinda also appreciates that we have to be involved in our communities to demonstrate to our clients that we really do care. She believes in getting out there and making a difference. I believe that Trinda will work tirelessly on our behalf to pursue the goals of CBA because she cares about the law, our profession and, fundamentally, people. Jeanne Desveaux Elected Member, Nova Scotia Branch Council Past Chair, National Elder Law Section I am supporting the candidacy of Trinda Ernst for CBA 2nd Vice-President without hesitation. During my many years at CBA Council, its Board of Directors and its Communications.Committee, I have observed Trinda to be a dedicated and thoroughly knowledgeable member of the volunteer team. Trinda will be an excellent representative of our profession.
