About Me PDF

[en français]

I am a 28 year member of the Canadian Bar Association, having joined during my first month at Dalhousie Law School in Halifax.  I am a partner in a law firm of 13 lawyers with offices in Kentville and Berwick, Kings County, Nova Scotia.

I have a solicitor’s general practice primarily, with emphasis on estate planning, estate administration, real estate, business law and elder law. Except in contested estate matters or guardianship applications, I rarely go to Supreme Court, but do appear more often in Family Court as I represent the Minister of Health in applications under the Adult Protection Act

In the past, I have also been an agent for the Provincial Crown in quieting of titles applications and for many years was retained as counsel for the Chicken Producers of Nova Scotia, where I did appear before administrative tribunals.  For more information about our firm, click here

Prior to moving to the Annapolis Valley, I spent one year as a lawyer with the Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission, practising criminal and family law in Amherst, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.  Prior to that, I articled with the federal Department of Justice at the Atlantic Regional Office in Halifax where I particularly enjoyed prosecuting drug and fisheries offences.

I enjoy a number of hobbies, although I rarely seem to have time to devote to them regularly.  The one exception is singing.  I sing in a woman’s a capella choir, Valley Voices, which rehearses weekly and competes in Atlantic Canada annually, qualifying many times to participate in international contests and three times placing in the top 10.

When time permits, I enjoy watching movies, reading books, doing jigsaw puzzles, and hiking.  Three times a week, I make time for workouts at Curves for Women, and enjoy going to other clubs when travelling out of town.
